Southeast TACE Center: Region IV - Technical Assistance & Continuing Education

TACE IV Newsletter - Winter 2009

Message from the TACE Staff

The Rehabilitation Services Administration, U.S. Department of Education, has awarded the Region IV Technical Assistance and Continuing Education (TACE) grant for the 2008-2013 term (TACE Center Region IV) to the Burton Blatt Institute (BBI) of Syracuse University.

The TACE Center: Region IV covers the following eight states in the U.S. Southeast region: Alabama (AL), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Kentucky (KY), Mississippi (MS), North Carolina (NC), South Carolina (SC) and Tennessee (TN).

The TACE Center: Region IV is a Learning Consortium that provides a unique partnership of academic, governmental, and community expertise, creating a broad base of knowledge and networks necessary to effectively deliver TA and CE. We support the state VR programs’ mission to enhance employment outcomes, independent functioning, independent living and quality of life for persons with disabilities in throughout the Southeast region.

In collaboration with our partners, we will work to provide state-individualized and regional TA and CE to State VR agencies, Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRPs), Centers for Independent Living (CILs), Client Assistance Programs (CAPs), and other partners in the eight-state region, as they may need it and request it.

We have an exciting plan of training and technical assistance activities outlined in this first TACE Newsletter.  We invite you to join our mailing list to receive first notice of planned activities (sign up at: TACEsoutheast.org ) and also to take advantage of the many learning opportunities that we have planned for the region.

We look forward to working with you and sharing innovative ideas in the coming years. Greetings for a productive 2009!
