Gwenea McDaniel is currently the Diversity and Recruitment Specialist for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services where she has almost 20 years of experience in capacities as a rehabilitation counselor, unit field supervisor and rehabilitation specialist. Ms. McDaniel received a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Alabama. She became certified as a rehabilitation counselor in 1993 by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. Gwenea currently develops and conducts organizational training programs designed to address agency staffing and demographics. She plans and conducts research to facilitate programmatic development and is responsible for the development and supervision of the agency’s internship, mentoring and educational leave programs. Gwenea develops training modules related to diversity and also oversees recruitment and retention initiatives with the department.
