**This is the eighth webinar in the TACE Job Development Exchange Series.

Topic: Employer Networks; Tapping into existing networks, building an employer network, and expanding your employer network to assist in job development.

People get jobs through "connections". Join this session to learn strategies to tap into or to build employer networks to assist in job development. This session will discuss the basic networks that a job developer will need to have to obtain that "door opener" with targeted employers in their community. The basic networks include the job seeker's connections, the job developer and agency's network, and the community's existing networks. Since each job seeker is unique, all three networks will be necessary to find success for all job seekers. The job seeker may or may not have some connections in the community and the job developer may not learn these connections by asking the job seeker, "Who do you know". Typical responses are "I don't know anyone". This session will offer strategies to identify the job seeker's potential networks if they have any. The job developer and the agency itself also has a network that needs to be built. There are several strategies to approach putting together this network. Most of the strategies are informal and do not rely on the more formal, business advisory approach. While each community has some form of a community employer network, these typical networks require a meaningful way to utilize them on behalf of your job seekers. All of these networks are valuable and needed. Join this session to discuss the use and development of these networks. The presenter will also plan on times for the webinar participants to share their strategies for tapping into employers in the community for both demand driven job development and customized job development.
