Description:
Volunteerism and Community Service is a powerful strategy to engage and develop a career path for individuals with disabilities. Youth and young adults acquire needed work skills and social behaviors while transitioning from school to work. These experiences provide opportunities to network professionally, exposure to employers, ways to expand resumes & references, and promote self-esteem. This training will also demonstrate how effective collaborations between programs like Vocational Rehabilitation and Volunteer Organizations benefit all involved.
