In the world of vocational rehabilitation, accomplishment is measured by the number of persons with disabilities who are successful at obtaining and maintaining employment. The lynchpin in that process is the job developer who has the task of finding an opportunity that matches the needs of an employer with the capabilities and desires of a person seeking employment. In theory, what position in the rehabilitation process could be more rewarding? Yet, the tenure for individuals employed as job developers tends to be short. This webinar will explore the reasons why job developers leave those positions and techniques to manage and control those factors to improve the ability to retain employees in these key positions. The presentation and opportunity for dialogue will address survey findings, identification of key issues and tips to overcome the stress and isolation associated with these efforts, thus increasing productivity and results.

- Put learnings into practice with the support of user-ready resources to establish and grow relationships with decision makers
- Access a JDX listserv to network with job developers in the Southeast and engage in dialogue with a national expert for guidance on this topic
The Southeast TACE is expanding its Job Development Exchange (JDX) in response to needs identified by job developers. The JDX will strengthen job developers’ capacity to maximize employment opportunities for individuals with the most significant disabilities.
Participants will also learn about the Southeast TACE Job Development Exchange (JDX). The JDX will provide state vocational rehabilitation agencies (VR) and community rehabilitation providers (CRPs) responsible for job development with the information and tools they need to successfully engage employers and address a wide range of barriers to employment. It will offer a series of Professional Learning Experiences on priority topics identified by job development professionals. Each package will be comprised of:
- A webinar
- User-ready resources
- Structured opportunities to network via a listserv with colleagues, businesses, and national authorities
